A leading global insurer, provider of unit-linked life assurance and private placement insurance for high net worth individuals and institutions, has chosen ActiveDocs Opus to automate its document production process. Working closely with a team of ActiveDocs specialists, the business has quickly deployed a solution that compiles documents compliant with the strict Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations.
With every case tailored to the client, the business needs to include a description of the client-chosen mix of mutual and hedge funds to generate private placement memoranda or other instruments, including all relevant prospectuses. The resulting documents are often in excess of 400 pages.
Catherine Larsen, SVP Sales for North America, said: “I’m pleased to see how productively our client has worked with the ActiveDocs team, starting with an in-depth proof-of-concept project, followed by the rapid deployment of the end-to-end solution that produces Rule 498 compliant documents, and virtually eliminates the possibility of human error from the document assembly process.”
To generate a document, the user simply selects the document type, combining their client’s choice of funds, and, where required, populating the client details either from a database or by entry into an electronic form. The generated output document includes all relevant fund descriptions, information about fees, and a full set of prospectuses. It is compliant with SEC Rule 498, including continuous page numbering across the document body and the prospectuses, and an accurate dynamically generated table of contents.
The insurer’s ActiveDocs content library holds fund descriptions and disclosures for over 500 funds. These are accessible from a single location, simplifying regular adjustments as the insurer receives updates about the funds offered to their clients. The solution integrates fund prospectuses into the final document directly from external sources to ensure that the latest content is always included.
